I love to misplace thing, to put things in unusual or unexpected places, just to see what happens, what sort of alternative reality can come out. What if…?

I was born 4 days before the end of the winter,
maybe that’s why during the cold season I always yearn for the spring to come…

According to legend, during the time of Moorish rule in Sicily, there lived a beautiful young woman in the Arab quarter of Kalsa, in the heart of Palermo. She spent her days tending to the plants on her balcony, until one day she was noticed by a Moor who instantly fell in love with her. He confessed his feelings, and the two were soon swept away by passion. But when the girl discovered that her lover would soon return to the East — where a wife and children awaited him — jealousy consumed her. Blinded by rage and betrayed by his deceit, she killed the Moor in his sleep. In a moment of furious vengeance, she cut off his head and turned it into a pot, where she planted a sprig of basil. She watered the herb with her tears, and in time the plant flourished, growing more fragrant and vibrant than any other.
The intoxicating scent of the “royal plant” (from the Greek basilikos) aroused the envy of her neighbors, who commissioned ceramic pots in the shape of the Moor’s head. And so, from sorrow and jealousy, a tradition was born— one that endures to this day.

Why do some people persist in claiming the right to choose whom we should love? Happy World Pride 2025 BTW…
