I am an Italian self-taught figurative artist born in 1963.
Passionate about drawing since childhood, I originally hoped to pursue formal artistic studies, but life led me in a different direction. I spent four decades working in the finance sector while continuing to cultivate my artistic practice through independent study and constant observation.
In 2012 and 2013, I attended life drawing courses at NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milan, where I further developed my understanding of anatomy, proportion, and form. In 2015, I began working extensively in watercolor, combining it with graphite until 2024, when oil painting became my primary medium.
I believe that today more than ever, Western society lives through—and identifies with—symbols. My work seeks to challenge some of them, stripping them away to reveal the stark realities that may lie beneath. Through my work, I explore human emotions by bringing together familiar images in unexpected ways, inviting viewers to reconsider accepted ideas, social conventions, and the contradictions of contemporary life.Although firmly rooted in the figurative tradition, I am drawn to and embrace the expressive possibilities of surrealism. Inspired by the technical legacy of the Old Masters, I seek to unite craftsmanship with imagination, creating works that are both visually engaging and open to interpretation.
